The Right To Be Rich

致富之权利

WHATEVER may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich. No man can rise to his greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless he has plenty of money; for to unfold the soul and to develop talent he must have many things to use, and he cannot have these things unless he has money to buy them with. A man develops in mind, soul, and body by making use of things, and society is so organized that man must have money in order to become the possessor of things; therefore, the basis of all advancement for man must be the science of getting rich.

人们想方设法地要赞扬贫穷，然而事实是：没有钱，人不可能过上真焉完满或是成功的日子；没有足够的钱，人不可能淋漓尽至地展示出出他个人的天赋和情操。因为情操的展开、天赋的发展都有助于必要的工具，这些工具要钱才能买得到。人类通过对使用一些工具来开展对思想、志向以及身体素质各方面的培育，而社会是得维持有良好秩序的，人要用钱去买这些东西。因此，致富之道也就是人类取得一切进步的基础。

The object of all life is development; and everything that lives has an inalienable right to all the development it is capable of attaining. Man's right to life means his right to have the free and unrestricted use of all the things which may be necessary to his fullest mental, spiritual, and physical unfoldment; or, in other words, his right to be rich.

万物生存都是为了发展与进化，任何生命体都有着不可剥夺的权利，那就是对可及的发展的追求。人类对生命的权利意味着对获取自由的权力和与人类开展心里方面、精神方面以及身体方面的追求时所必需的工具的无限制的使用权；蒙昧无知，换句话说，他获取财富的权利。

In this book, I shall not speak of riches in a figurative way; to be really rich does not mean to be satisfied or contented with a little. No man ought to be satisfied with a little if he is capable of using and enjoying more. The purpose of Nature is the advancement and unfoldment of life; and every man should have all that can contribute to the power：elegance, beauty, and richness of life; to be content with less is sinful. The man who owns all he wants for the living of all the life he is capable of living is rich; and no man who has not plenty of money can have all he wants.

在这本书中，我不打算采取华丽的表达方式来形容财富；要真正的富足并不意味着满意于一点点，或是知足。如果一个人有能力使用更多、享受更多，他不应该只满足于这一点点财富。自然存在的目标就要寻求对生命的发展与进化；每个人都应该拥有这些权利身份的象征：优雅、美丽和生活中的财富。只满足于一点点是有罪的。一个拥有他有能力享用的整个人生当中最想要的一切的人是富足的；同样，没有人能够在没有足够的金钱的情况下拥有他想要的一切。

Life has advanced so far, and become so complex, that even the most ordinary man or woman requires a great amount of wealth in order to live in a manner that even approaches completeness. Every person naturally wants to become all that they are capable of becoming; this desire to realize innate possibilities is inherent in human nature; we cannot help wanting to be all that we can be. Success in life is becoming what you want to be; you can become what you want to be only by making use of things, and you can have the free use of things only as you become rich enough to buy them.

目前人们的生活水平提高了，生活也就变得更复杂，就连最寻常的老百姓，要想过上美满的生活，他们也需要大量的金钱。每个人都想实现他们能力所及的造化，此乃人之常情，人类都有着与生俱来的实现可能性志向的渴望。我们没能像帮助常人一样助弱智者也成才。心想事成的前提就是利用好足够你需要使用的东西，而要想无拘无束的使用某些东西，除非你足够富有，有钱买下他们。

To understand the science of getting rich is therefore the most essential of all knowledge. There is nothing wrong in wanting to get rich. The desire for riches is really the desire for a richer, fuller, and more abundant life; and that desire is praise worthy. The man who does not desire to live more abundantly is abnormal, and so the man who does not desire to have money enough to buy all he wants is abnormal.

要懂得致富之道理所当然也就成了最有必要的学科。想要变得富有并没有错。人类对富有的渴望其实就是对更为富裕、更为充实更为丰富的人生的追求，它也是值得赞扬的。不想生活的更充裕的人是不正常的，于是不想拥有足够的钱去买他们想要的东西的人也是不正常的。
